Civil Weddings
If you're thinking about holding your marriage at the hotel please remember the following points:

  • As soon as provisional arrangements have been made, you should notify the Superintendent Registrar at South Gloucestershire Register Office. You will need to pay a fee for the Registrar's attendance prior to the ceremony
  • You will also have to give notice of marriage to the Superintendent Registrar of the district in which you live. This notice must be given in person by one of the couple
  • The Superintendent Registrar can only permit a civil, non-religious ceremony. Any music, readings or performances, which form any part of the ceremony, must be secular (non-religious). The content of the ceremony must be agreed in advance with the Superintendent Registrar who will be attending the ceremony

Renewing Your Marriage Vows
This is a very personal ceremony for any couple wishing to celebrate their marriage. It might be to celebrate a special anniversary, or an event for family and friends following a marriage abroad.

You will need to contact your local registrar who will advise on this service and the fees involved or visit www.civilceremonies.co.uk to find out more.
